VTK400 is a 4-input production switcher (Live Tool), a professional, broadcast quality character generator (Title Tool), and a powerful graphics animating and compositing application (Paint Tool). An optional Non-linear Editor / DDR (Edit Tool) completes the Video Toolkit.

The VTK400 Live Tool is a powerful digital switcher that meets the most demanding requirements for on-air broadcasting and live event production. The Live Tool integrates seamlessly with the Title and Paint Tools to provide high production value, including static and animated overlay and full frame graphics. The primary features of Live include:

Title Tool

The Title Tool is a vector based character generator with advanced features for creating broadcast quality graphics . The primary features of Title include:

* On-screen user-interface for text layout and font typestyle editing
* Ability to import common graphic formats for textures, images, backgrounds and logos
* Free form layering and positioning of text and graphics
* The creation of smooth, sub-pixel variable-speed rolls and crawls
* Independent image and transparency maps for face, border, sides and shadows
* Complete integration with the Paint Tool so that project and work files can be easily moved

Paint Tool

Paint is an object oriented, animation and compositing system that allows the user to produce high end, animated and moving graphics and overlays. The primary features of Paint include:

* Paint directly onto live video with variable transparency and real-time anti-aliasing
* Vector drawing tools including geometry, freehand and soft airbrushes
* Extensive control over stroke properties such as transparency, edges and shadows
* Unlimited undo and redo of any stroke, color or other setting
* Ability to animate all strokes over time with on-screen and time-line control
* Ability to save layers and strokes to make animation templates

When Live, this tool is an onboard DDR:

* 2 Channels of video (one dedicated Playback and one Playback / Record)
* Cut or transition between clips
* Capture program as it happens / ready to edit
* Use this feature to play show openings and lead-ins
